About Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's grandest conservation area, covering 3,893 square kilometers where the Victoria Nile bisects the savannah. The park's defining centerpiece is the ferocious gorge where the entire 50-meter-wide Nile surges through a narrow 7-meter rock cleft before plunging 43 meters into the "Devil’s Cauldron". The surrounding Borassus palm savannahs teem with lions, leopards, Rothschild giraffes, and massive elephant herds.
